Picture Perfect

I don't know about you but I think I must be picture cursed.  Especially when it comes to school photos.  Of course I prep myself tons and make sure I know what I'm wearing, how my hair will be, makeup, ect... BUT .. it never looks good at least not to me.. My mother claims the pictures are all beautiful and yada yada.. however.. she's my mother and it's in the job description to say those things..
After retakes and the neverending search to find my good side  I discovered a god send... it came in the form of black and white photography.  EUREKA!! finally a medium where I don't look tired, or have blotchy skin, or my hair looks gross.  black and white pictures truly .. well in my opinion and the opinion of many of my friends.. make you look better. In closing.. the next time you see a picture of yourself and want to start digging a bit HUGE hole.. and jump right in.. try scanning the picture and make it black and white.. or set the camera to a black and white setting .. you'll probably be pleasantly surprised. =]

The Lovely Bones

This past weekend I borrowed one of my english teacher's novels in my quest to finish 153 books before the end of the year.  It was a paperback with a simple blue cover and an inviting first paragraph.  I read on and couldn't put it down.  I don't like when people ruin the plots of books for me so I shant ruin it for you.  However, I have to say that this book made me laugh and cry and was one of the most eloquently written that I've ever read.  It's very relatable and almost scary in how realistic it was.  if you like books or even the idea of a good read that wont be too hard to understand.. you should consider the lovely bones by alice sebold.  IT'S OUSTANDING =]

Spiderwick Chronicles

this past sunday i saw the spiderwick chronicles movie. i wasn't sure what to expect.  since it was called the spiderwick chronicles i thought that maybe they would have a sequel like harry potter. on the contrary the movie ended with some final actions and the major conflict was resolved.  this was very confuising. having not read any of the books i had to question the plot line although it was well done and keeped me interested the whole way through.  the sets were beautiful and the animation not bad but one other thing stook out.  i'm sure most of you have seen either finding neverland or willie wonka and the chocolate factory.. the new one.  if you remember the boy who is in both of those.. imagine him as his own twin..
this is exactly what happens in the spiderwick movie.  originally british the little boy who's name i can't remember puts on an american accent  and plays his own twin.. it was difficult to take the label of charlie.. from wille wonka.. off him.. so throughout the movie.. i waited for him to run home to his grandpa joe and josephine.. however that never happened as it was a completely different movie.. in conclusion spiderwick was an entertaining hour and a bit. but i suggest renting it.. unless you're a spiderwick enthusiast who must see the movie in theatres. =]
