KFC
KFC
Fast food. It is an entirely different culture, an entirely different world. Though it may be easy, less time consuming, satisfying and some even would call it delicious; fast food is the worst choice one could make when deciding what should fill their empty stomach. Not only is fast food disgustingly unhealthy, it is horrible for the animals that make up our world. However, KFC is among the worst option even compared to MacDonald’s. We hear the Colonel boast about some “secret ingredient” that makes KFC so good. Ever wondered why such an ingredient has been kept secret? The secret ingredient is most definitely human waste. The meat producer for KFC, called “Tyson,” is beyond unsanitary and food that we eat is actually prepared there. There have been several investigations where workers were found urinating near chickens, on conveyer belts, and just about everywhere else in the slaughter house. How lovely to know that people consume this right after, and they even call it… good? If the consumers are not already deterred by the unbelievably disgusting and dirty conditions that these slaughterhouses have been proven to have, there is still more reason why KFC should never be supported. When the birds first arrive to the slaughter house, they are already in a horrible condition. They come in completely covered in ***, dirt, blood, and everything else imaginable due to the harsh trip that they must endure when travelling to the place where they will be killed. Of course, that is the least of their problems. Workers are actually encouraged by supervisors to torture these birds simply for the fun of it. They kick them, throw them, rip their heads off and anything else that these sick people seem to find amusing. Many of the birds have their beaks ripped off while they are still alive and waiting to be killed simply for selfish reasons. It is so that the birds do not peck each other and their precious meat can remain tender. Yet still, the plight of the chickens does not come to an end. They are eventually thrown into scalding water tanks and brutally burned alive. These tanks are meant to burn off their feathers after death, but it appears that the “Tyson” workers do not want to trouble themselves enough to include this extra step. These acts are all beyond appalling. People do not know of the horrors that these living, breathing creatures must endure. If people actually knew about these travesties, significantly less people would eat from this sad excuse for a restaurant. Unfortunately slaughter houses are strategically placed far beyond the average human‘s eye. They are never seen anywhere close to the regular public, they are hidden, for good reason. The consumers should not be eating these things if they do not know where they come from, in fact, I urge any person who eats at KFC to visit one of these slaughterhouses, or even to question the workers. The truth is right there for them to find it. If we continue to feed this business our money, it will continue to grow and become worse. The only way to make a statement that the owners of KFC will no doubt respond to, would be to remove the mass profit that they are making. Money makes all the difference in this world. We are the money holders. If it isn’t about the cruelty, it should at least be about health.
